New yoga class
Jan. 9th, 2004 10:28 amI have found a yoga class that runs from just before 7am until 8:30am on Fridays. This is wonderful as early morning is when my body WANTS to yoga and most of the classes here are either in the evenings of mid-morning and for the convenience of mothers of school-age children. The class is downtown in the old residential area -just a block and a half from the old house where my son lived when he was last here. Big open room (used to be living and dining room) with polished hardwood floors and one mirrored wall. I was pleased to see only mats and a few rolled blankets and bolsters. All too often yoga studios these days resemble physical therapy equipment rooms. It was lovely to go through a session of relaxation and poses in a quiet room with some gentle music and daylight just beginning to creep through the big front window. The yoga teacher sat in lotus in front of the window and the steeply pitched roof of the house across the street gradually began to appear directly behind her and in perfect alignment. Good class. I'll be going every Friday.
