Kent is down with a bad back. He hobbles to work, all bent over, because he inisists that he has a project that he just -has- to finish, and then heads back home at noon unable to sit up in a chair anymore. I report this condition because it made me decide this morning that, despite evidence to the contrary, I'm really a man and not a woman. I found myself asking questions (on AIM, of course, we couldn't, for goodness sakes, talk) like, "what meds have you taken?" and "did you do your stretching exercise?" and "can i get you a doctor's appointment?" instead of "poor sweet baby, does it hurt really bad?" obviously, i have a masculine rather than a feminine communciation style - looking for symptoms and reasons and solutions rather than giving sympathy.

in any case, i did call the doctor, got a referral to a physical therapist, and kent is going to get some therapy this afternoon. I'm hoping that some ice and then heat and a little electric stim will help.

We are missing Terry! She is visiting her mother and family in Spokane, and we are (gasp) having to cook our own dinner! How quickly you become accustomed to the delights of having dinner ready and on the table after Jeopardy.

I got Kent to buy me a TIVO just before we left for vacation, and I'm having lots of fun programming it to record stuff at 2am and then watching it in the evenings instead of yucky prime time. Prime time seems to be made up these days of various incarnations of "CSI", or, as I refer to it, "cutting up dead people". Kent and Terry like to watch "cutting up dead people" but i refrain. Got some nice old episodes of The Pretender and Scarcrow and Mrs. King and even Babylon 5. Now if they'd just bring back Remington Steele!
