Here are the 91 books that I completed in 2012. 62% were first time reads. 24% were on audio, 36% were eBooks, and 40% were traditional print medium. It's been just less than a year since I first met and began reading Nathan Lowell's books - but I feel like I've been reading them all my life. On the other hand, I've been reading the Jean Auel books for at least thirty years and I'm SO very glad to be done with the last one. Other than VALLEY OF HORSES, I doubt I will ever re-read one again. Charlie Stross's Merchant Princes series were a good read, but the farther along the series went, the more I felt that I had missed something - it just didn't quite all hang together as well as I hoped. And finally, THE SPARROW, which has been on my to read list since the year it came out. I found it deeply thought provoking and excellently done, but must admit to a bit of, shall we say, disgruntlement at the ending. If the protagonist had been female rather than male, the book wouldn't have had nearly the impact that it did. Everyone would have said, "Get over it and move along." That makes me a little disappointed.
