Got my knees injected with Synvisc yesterday. I've been putting this off for six months - fearing the needle bit. I should have done it at once. The doctor was very good, and did novocaine on the surface before the injection - which ached a little but was really not bad at all. Five more injections to go - one each week. 80% of the people who do this get excellent results as the gel settles in and makes a temporary replacement for the missing cartilege. With luck, I'll be walking better and more comfortably before Worldcon in Montreal and our Greek vacation in September.
