memelaina | california here i come

i'm headed out to california for two weeks on wednesday. five days in sacramento with my sister followed by work week of training at company HQ, then five more days with my sister. haven't spent two whole weeks away from home on my own for several years now - not since the company started banning corporate travel - but i used to do this all the time. kent is wondering whether it will be the water heater, the plumbing, or one of the cars that goes belly up while i am gone. oddly enough, these things DO tend to happen while i'm out of town, but i'm hoping that he and terry have a quiet couple of weeks with no domestic disasters. sappho, of course, will be devastated by my absence.

oh, and i get to play scrabble at the Palo Alto club on Monday night! that should be fun.
