I have a lot of trouble with the idea of weight loss because of the implied ethical/moral judgement that there is a right/normal way to eat and a wrong/bad/abnormal way to eat. This is very much a hot button for me, and I usually can't even get to the content of what I'm looking at because of words like "better", "right", and "normal". I've just come up with a bit of an ephiphany on how to get myself around this. Rather than asking "What SHOULD I eat?" I'm going to try asking "What kinds of things do thinner people eat?" It avoids the implied superiority of "should". Maybe I can work with this.
