CapClave - well, not exactly
Oct. 13th, 2014 08:48 amKent and I went to CapClave last weekend in DC. Well, mostly Kent went to CapClave and I spent the weekend in DC seeing friends and family that I had missed very much. I got to have breakfast with Mark Rockman, the person outside my family that I have known longest in my whole life (we were in kindergarten together), and found him in better shape physically and mentally that I've seen him in a long, long time. This gave me genuine joy. I spent hours and hours and hours with
lisajulie and we got to talk and cry and laugh together as we hadn't in a long time. Robin and Fred drove up from Arlington (where they are studying Mongolian) to Gaithersburg and I got to spend quality time (and a great meal) with them as well. And, very sadly, I got to spend some time with Suzanne in the cardiac icu at Suburban as she waited to see whether her husband Hal was going to live through the night. He had a major heart attack and emergency quadruple bypass surgery on his 70th birthday - collapsed after doing a major yard project. So, my friends, enjoy each day with your loved ones and tell them, out loud, every single day, how much they mean to you.
