Health Care NOT Health Insurance

rockycoloradan posed the question “Why should we have a government supported health care plan?” and proceeded to agree that he was in favor of a basic, federal health insurance plan. I think he's going about it wrong. The answer is not "basic health insurance" but "basic health care". Our society has us trained just like Pavlov trained his dogs. I say "health care", you say "insurance". what we forget is that ANY insurance is a FOR-PROFIT company. What we need is a FOR-PEOPLE organization that administers health care. Health care, yes. Insurance, no.
