went to work very, very early yesterday so I could spend the afternoon in the waiting room at memorial hospital with my friend vicki while her husband ron was in surgery to remove a brain tumor. it was a stressful time. so i taught her how to knit.

the surgery was only 3 hours rather than 5 to 6, and ron came out of the anesthesia able to talk and move both sides of his body. prognosis is very good.
