jello for the knees

Just got my first of five shots of Hyalgen for my knees. Hoping for the same positive results I had with the shots last July. My insurance (Blue Cross/Anthem) says I do not need "pre-authorization" for the shots - but then turns around and says they won't guarantee payment until after the bill comes in! When, oh when, will we learn that what we need is health care not health insurance?
