Sailor's Fair Warning

When I walked out of the house this morning at 6:20 I noticed a weird golden light falling over the lawn and the house across the street and the hill above it. Then I looked to the right (east) and saw the entire sky ablaze in a sunrise that put GONE WITH THE WIND to shame. It lasted as we drove down our hill and then down Rockrimmon towards the freeway, turning from fiery red to bright golden coral and then to faintly pinkish yellow. Five minutes later it was nearly gone and the sky was a Parish blue spilled with a white grey moire of clouds. My friend threeringedmoon got this photo from about ten miles north of our house in the foothills.
