kidney stones

Had a drink of water with my thyroid pill about 6:30 and now NPO until I head in for surgery at noon for a 2:30 scheduled operation to remove kidney stones. Kent had this done about 23 years ago - just before we came to Colorado - and hasn't had a problem since, so I have strong hopes this is going to fix a very painful problem. And the doctor has promised to meet me at the door with anti-anxiety drugs after I told him about getting up off the operating table and trying to walk out the door when they brought me into the operation room for abdominal surgery back in January. The anesthesiologist for that one didn't believe in anti-anxiety drugs. At least he didn't before he had to try to wrestle me back on the table. Assuming all goes well I should be home about dinner time.
